Insured Forest Destruction

A new report by Repórter Brasil finds that agricultural insurance, granted by multinationals and subsidized by the Brazilian Government, protects plantations in areas that are embargoed as a result of illegal deforestation, that overlap indigenous territories, and that are owned by producers who have been caught using slave labour.
